Pallet Disposal Policy
Why This Policy Exists
TradeSpace outsources pallet disposal, and costs increase with volume. This policy keeps shared areas clean and safe while covering costs fairly, allowing us to continue providing the convenient service of handling the disposal for you.
Our intention is to make this easy and fair for everyone while keeping the space clean and functional.
Where Pallets Go
✅ Place pallets ONLY in the designated Pallet Disposal Area
❌ Never leave pallets in:
- Shipping & Receiving
- Laneways or common areas
- In front of units or exits
Before You Dispose
Before placing any items in the Pallet Disposal Area, please confirm:
- The item is a standard wood pallet (approximately 40" × 48")
- The pallet is placed only in the designated Pallet Disposal Area
- Pallets are stacked safely and within height limits
- Any non-standard pallet or non-pallet items have been coordinated in advance with the TradeSpace team
Free Pallet Allowance
Each member company may dispose of up to 5 standard pallets per week at no charge.
Standard pallet: Approximately 40" x 48", intact and usable
Over the limit: $15 per pallet (or agreed upon pricing plan)
First-time over limit: Your Community Manager will reach out to inform you of the charge before it's added to your invoice.
Non-Standard Pallet Items
Non-standard pallet items include: Oversized pallets larger than 40" x 48", or wood crates/bins.
Pricing: Starting at $30 per item (varies depending on item, up to TradeSpace’s discretion)
Items Not Allowed
Disposal of metal items, bikes, furniture, or any other item that is not a wood pallet item listed above is not allowed to be disposed of in the pallet disposal area. Members must arrange proper disposal of these items and assume full cost.
Improper disposal may result in a disruption fee of up to $250 per occurrence, reflecting the labor, time, and third-party disposal costs required to resolve the issue.
If you’re unable to arrange disposal yourself, please contact the TradeSpace team in advance. We can help coordinate proper disposal or recommend an appropriate service, with costs passed through to the member.
High-Volume Members
If you regularly exceed 5 pallets/week or have non-standard items:
Your Community Manager will reach out to create a custom monthly arrangement with predictable pricing based on your needs.
Contact your Community Manager anytime to discuss a custom plan.
Pallet Handling Rules
- Maximum stacking height: 10 pallets
- Stacks must be stable and straight
- CHEP blue pallets must be stacked separately (we'll coordinate free returns)
- Damaged pallets stack separately from usable pallets
- Broken wood/debris goes in the Supersave container
How It Works
- Allowance resets: 1st of each month
- Billing: Charges added to monthly invoice
- Questions: Contact your Community Manager
If you’re ever unsure whether an item qualifies, please check with your Community Manager before disposing — we’re happy to help.
Sharing is Caring
- Give away pallets: If another member can use your pallets or crates before you dispose of them, feel free to coordinate directly with them.
- Take free pallets: Need pallets? Help yourself to anything in the pallet disposal area anytime—it's free for the taking!
